Who we are
Money Tracker (“the app”) is an Android app published by EthanApp (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information you enter in the app. If you have a question about it, email us at ethanhdt@gmail.com.
Information stored on your device
To work, the app stores what you enter:
- transactions (amounts, dates and times, categories, accounts and notes),
- accounts, categories and budgets you create, and
- your preferences, such as currency and theme.
This information is saved in a database inside the app’s private storage on your phone. It is not sent to us, and we have no way to see it. No sign-in is needed, so the app doesn’t know your name, email address or phone number.
Information we collect
None. The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools, and it does not send your records over the internet. We don’t use cookies or identifiers to follow you across apps or websites.
Permissions
The app doesn’t ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or SMS. It uses vibration for keypad feedback. When you choose to restore a backup, Android’s file picker lets you select a single file, and the app can read only that file.
Exports and backups you make
When you use Export to CSV or Back up, the app creates a file and opens Android’s share sheet. You decide where the file goes — for example Google Drive, email or your phone’s storage. Once shared, the file is handled by the service you chose and its own privacy policy. These files contain your financial records, so keep them somewhere safe.
Android may also include the app’s data in your phone’s own device backup to your Google account, if you have turned that on in your phone’s settings. That backup is provided by Google, not by us.
Sharing and selling
We don’t share, sell, rent or trade any information, because we never receive any.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you remove it. You can delete everything at any time with Settings → Erase all data, or by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android’s settings. Files you exported yourself must be deleted wherever you saved them.
Security
Your records are protected by Android’s app sandbox, which stops other apps from reading the app’s private storage. Anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app, so use a screen lock. You can also use Hide balances to mask amounts on the home screen.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone — children included.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it on this page and change the effective date above. If a future version of the app ever needs to handle data differently, we’ll explain it here before that version is released.
